The award and event recognizes the accomplishments of outstanding female high school seniors throughout the Greater Rochester Area for their academic excellence, leadership, and community service. RocIDEA Connection: Intersectional Feminism II

Join RocCity Coalition, in partnership with the Women's Council, Rochester Young Professionals, Women's Foundation of Genesee Valley, and 540WMain Communiversity for the next RocIDEA Connection. This event will be a thought-provoking and engaging community driven workshop on intersectional feminism. During this two hour session, through presentation, Q&A, and small group discussion, this workshop will unpack the concepts of identity, intersectionality and feminism through a historical, political, and social lens. The workshop will challenge participants to explore and analyze their internal biases and identities and examine how all active feminists can be more inclusive and intersectional in their practice. This workshop will be facilitated by Maya Crane from the Rochester Area Community Foundation, Iman Abid from the Genesee Valley Chapter of the New York Civil Liberties Union (NYCLU), and Calvin Eaton, Founder of 540WMain Communiversity.

This event is free and open to adults of all ages and gender expressions. Networking begins at 6 pm and the facilitated workshop promptly at 6:30 pm. Space is limited.
